AJANTA


In Maharashtra count of India is located Ajanta the 31 rock cut cave monuments, caves include sculptures and paintings that are considred to be a masterpiece of both Buddhist religious art, Ajanta caves are under the protection of UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first cave or Cave one was built on the end of the horse-shoe shaped scarp, the cave has one of the most fascinanting crawings on its facade with relief sculptures, there are scenes crawed from life of the Buddha, cave have a front court with cells and porch with cells on both ends, there is a shrine with impressive seated image of the Buddha, all walls are coverd with paintings with themes from Jataka stories the Gautama Buddha life, cave to is similar to cave one but it is in better state of preservation, the paintings on the wall and ceilings wall describes the Jataka tales.
