IRAN

Iran is situated in the southwest Asia. Until 1935 it was known as Persia, named after a province Persis, the residence of the king dynasty. Iran is a country of  famous and rich history – you can visit remains and historical monuments of many cultures. First settlements are dating from 7000 BC.
It borders on Azerbaijan and Armenia on the north-west, Turkmenistan on the north-east, Pakistan and Afghanistan on the east, Turkey and Iraq on the west. It is surrounded by the Caspian sea on the north and the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman on the south. Iran ranks second in the world in natural gas reserves and oil reserves.
