GERMANY

Germany is situated in the centre of Europe and it played an important role in the history of Europe. Germany was even inhabited in the Stone Age. It was named after the province Germania inhabited by several Germanic tribes that were first mentioned around 100 AD.. After the II World War it was divided into two states – East and West Germany, that were unified again in the 1990.
Nowadays Germany is one of the most influential conutries of the world, an economic power and country with a high standard of living. It is a republic consisting of 16 states. It is bordered  to the north by  Denmark, to the east by Poland and the Chech Republic, to the south by Austria and Switzerland and to the west by France, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands. The capital is Berlin.
