PORTUGAL
Portugal is situated on the east side of the Iberian peninsula. The Romans founded their fortresses on the estuary of the river Douro and named them Portus Cale. Later this name was used for the whole country–Portucalis.
It borders on Spain (border is 1200 km long). The Portuguese coast is 848 km long (along the Atlantic ocean).
The capital is Lisboa.
